The cold never bothered be anyways/ Hip Kit CT Layout

Good morning everyone!! It is finally getting cold here so its been a blast to work with this months kits and last years pictures!

I made this layout using the sketch that Ashley Horton created for one of the challenges on the Hip kit club forums

This here is my take on that great sketch. And to be honest the title was my hubbies suggestion lol. Our girls love Frozen and it popped into his head and it stuck and ended up as the title.lol. Along with this sketch challenge I thought I would challenge myself to use a colored cardstock background. Now to some of you this may not seem hard, but I dont stray much from my white background, it feels weird. And this wasnt any different but I loved the color of this pretty cardstock, Lollipop, even the name is fun!

So I turned to my Silhouette and grabbed Nicole Nowosad and Ashley Hortons cut files and started to play to see what I was going to do for the background. And then when I needed to fill the circles I automatically went for that Pink Fresh Studio paper. I love that little penguin!!  And thought it would work as its own little embellishment. Along with that little cute deer. So I started backing my paper with pieces of that Pink fresh studio paper, then I stared to sew little snow flakes and the print and cut files from Kim watson, to the page.

I backed my photo of my youngest daughter with Kims exclusive papers and then started to add puffy stickers and those pretty pretty glittered silver foam stickers, also exclusive to this kit! I added little thread messes behind some of the embellishment clusters and then remembered I had those My minds eye enamel dots and had to add some of those too! Like on the cute little deers bow, lol.

To finish off my layout I grabbed my white acrylic paint, because at the moment Im out of my while mist, add some water to it and splattered it around my layout.
Thanks for stopping by my blog to check my layout out. Head over to the Hip Kit Blog and check out what all the other ladies have made with the kits from November and then head over to facebook and look up the Hip Kit group, come join in on great chats and fun challenges with chances to win!!

Stash Scrap Thursday!!

It is way later then I wanted to get this up but there has been a bunch going on here!! I guess its just getting to be that time of year lol. But I'm loving it! Gott o go to the school and have Thanksgiving lunch with the kiddos and had fun with that. We got our food and sat outside on the benches in the sun since there were so many people. It was just warm enough to enjoy it!

Well this week I decided to pull out papers from my October Hip Kit. I cant believe with everything I've made that I still have more of this kit left, lol. But I've been loving it!

I love this picture of my parents with my kiddos and my niece. All of them looking goofy as all get out!!

My youngest playing hide and seek with here pool water gun. Bare foot and all lol. I just wanted to scrap this and I actually journaled! That's something I rarely do, But its also something I'm trying to get better about. Not just the pictures but the words too.

And this is the last for tonight, and wow its late lol. But this is a picture my hubby took one day and I didnt even know until he showed me weeks later. Youngest and me were sick and cuddled up on the couch, paying no attention to anyone lol  I love these little things!

Sorry its so late today and thanks for coming by to check it out anyways! Life is crazy at times, but I'm in love with it all!!

Hope you have a great Friday!!!

'Tis the season - Hip Kit club CT

Good Morning everyone and Happy Tuesday!! Im here today to share a layout I made for the Hip Kit Club creative team. Using the lovely November 2015 kits and the great cutfiles available for subscribers.

I love this layout!! lol. The papers that Kim Watson created are so amazing!! Its been so hard to cut into them but I have managed and man am I happy I did!! The background base is American Crafts Kraft cardstock from the cardstock kit, I layered a that pretty Christmas pudding paper by Kim ontop of it and sewed it down, again Im really loving sewing on my layouts. I love the look it gives, a bit more detail.

I grabbed Bright Tinsel, also by Kim and used one of the cutfiles by Nicole Nowosad that says 'Tis the season to be Jolly.  I thought this totally fit for this layout. We were so happy, we'd been playing out in the snow for a good while, pulling the kiddos around on sleds and having snow ball fight and making snow angels. Everyone was so happy!!

I had already printed out and cut the print and cute files available in the shop by Kim Watson and I used them as layering pieces threw the layout along with cut little die cuts from Pink Fresh Studio, those came in the main kit. Along with the pretty silver foam glitter stickers created by Kim too!

I used another cut file created by Nicole Nowodas to cut out the vellum snowflakes and placed them around the layout. To finish it off I grabbed a few of the acrylic shapes from the Embellishment kit and layered them here and there around the layout and tucked some thread in some of the embellishment clusters.

I hope you enjoyed see what I made today and hope you some back and check out what else I make along the way! Head over to the shop and look at the beautiful December Daily kits that are available as well, with tons of exclusive products!! Stash Scrap Thursday!! *Layout heavy*

Hey everyone, Thursday is here, so close to Friday!! lol And I'm back with another Stash Scrap.
This past weekend Paper Issues had an online crop and I'v been playing along and using up a bunch of my stash!! I think Ive only mannage to get 7 done so far, but I want to try and get more done before the 14th, thats the cut off for getting them entered in. You still have a but of time if you want to run over to facebook and look them up, Paper Issues Friends and fans, and all of the challenges are there! And lots of good fun talking too!

So here are my layouts and what challenge they were for:

This is me & my mom and this was Lisa's Attitude of gratitude challenge, you were to create a layout showing everyday gratitude. I used bits and pieces from my October Birds of a feather kit to create this layout

This is my oldest son back when he was first starting Kindergarten.  He was so happy and confident, it was amazing! This was Michelles get into Shape challenge. You were to use a repetitive shape threw the layout. I thought I would use my Pink Paislee memorandum 6x6 paper pad for this one because I loved all the pops of color with all the white I had put in this layout, I also grabbed bits from older Hip kits as well for embellishments.

This was for Color Cast Design mood board. This is the mood board:

I thought this picture was perfect for this mood board and I worked in all the colors but kept it very light and airy. The cold looks black in the photos lol, But I loved this picture of my youngest daughter with my hubby just checking out the water.

This was for A Flair for buttons challenge, you were to use at least one flair and extra points if it was one of theres. I didnt have any of theres :( so I grabbed my Basic Grey Aurora flair and my Shimelle  stash go to town. My title is Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful. And I chose that because I tried to get some good pics with all of us looking and smiling but hey there kids, lol. Ones not looking, neither am I lol, ones slining his head around to move away from his brother and ones cheesing and giving his brother bunny ears lol, Either way it was fun!

This layout is Leahs negative space challenge. You were to leave at least 2/3 of the layout blank. This is hard for me to do, as I'm guessing it is for a lot of scrappers lol. But I managed. I decided to grab an older pack of Heidi Swapp project life cards and the embellishments that came with it and went for it, this way I was still limited to what I was working with.

Now these next two I used my Birds of a Feather November kit. I had 2 layouts due for my DT obligations and a few of these challenges hit it right on the mark and I had just taken pictures the week before at the park that were perfect too so I grabbed my kit and pics and did these too.

Now this one was for Donas Orange challenge. You were to make a layout with orange in it and you got extra points if you used mixed media.
I cut the background on my Silhouette and places a piece of bright orange paper under it from Echo Park and then went to cutting out leafs with my Silhouette too. I added some acorn brads from another of my previous months BOAF kits, I finished it off with a little flair, some thread and Thickers from the kit.

And las but not least this is the last one I have for now and it was for Corries color challenge. You were to use green, orange and red.  This pic was in with the above from the park the week before and I loved the colors of the leafs so I used it and a few pieces from previous kits and it all cam together quite quick.

Im really hoping to get at least a few more done, I would have liked to get them all done, but I guess we will see!! I'll be posting more here in the next day or so, all by the 14th, so come back by and check them out and if you dont want to forget you can subscribe and youll never miss another post! Thanks and I hope you have a good rest of your day and hey think, tomorrow is Friday!!

Cold hands and Warm Heart/ Hip kit club CT

Hello everyone!! Hope this Tuesday is going well for you!?! Well Im going gaga over the November 2015 Hip Kit club kits!!! They are beautiful!! I dont know how but +Kimberly Hutchison always out does the last kit!!

There are so many exclusives in these kits its crazy!! Thanks to +Kim Watson , we have tons of beautiful papers, wood veneers, and OMG so much more, that she created for these kits!

I dove in the day I got them and created this layout of me and my hubby last winter playing in the snow. I had to play with the papers Kim Watson had made, there just to pretty not to! So I grabber this one, Oh what fun - Softly Falling. I thought the paper went great since we were outside playing in the snow!

Oh and yeah there are exclusive print and cuts and cut files on the Hip Kit site too!! And oh man did the ladies do fantastic on these too!! The cut files, like some of the other items in the kits are exclusive to Hip Kit Club. You can download some of the files by just being a member of the site, others you have to be a subscriber and they are all well worth it!!! I actually used one of the cut files on this layout and it was created by the lovely Kim Watson!!

I actually stared this layout by choosing the photo and then the background papers, and then I was like, hey I think Im going to sew on this lol. So I went to it. I sewed the white strip in the center and then all the way around the edges. And then i decided I wanted to use that beautiful cut file and thought hey lets sew that too! lol So I did and I think it worked pretty well, if I do say so myself :)

I grabbed my Pink Fresh Studio cardstock die cut pack and pulled a few things out of there, oh it was so hard not to use the penguin with balloons lol. I think he might be my Fav!! But I did manage to narrow it down to just a few things lol and then I grabbed my wood veneers from the Embellishment kit and a small tag from the Basic Grey Juniper Berry Tags that came in the main kit and started layering them behind the frame until I liked the way it looked.

Then I jumped to the other side and added a vellum tab diecut  that I cut out of the whit vellum from the cardstock kit, grabbed a Christmas tree from the Pink Fresh die cut pack, slid that behind the tab and placed the word December from the pack as well on the tab. And then I just had to at least use the squirrel, so I had it hold my little title lol, I figured one way to sneak the little guy in there!!

The kits are AMAZING though!! And theres also a December Daily kit up on the sire, its under November so that you can get them before December and be ready!! lol But there are TONS of exclusives in the DD too, you need to hurry over to the site and check them out!! Kimberly even has 2 options for you, you can order it with the album or without!

Well I hope you enjoyed this layout of mine, with these lovely kit and I hope you come back to see more!! And make sure you head over the the Hip kit club Blog and there Facebook forum too!! Come, Share and Chat with everyone!!

Favorite time of year ever/Fall this way BOAF DT

Good morning and I hope your weekend has went well. Our weekend had been cloudy and rainy, so I'm happy we got to be out this last week when it was nice and take some good pictures with all the pretty fall colors! And with that I am here to share 2 layouts I made for the Birds of a Feather kit club design team.

We got a beautifully fall themed kit this month, you should head over to the shop and check out the November kit before there all gone! This kit is full of BoBunny and Echo park papers. They are so perfect for fall!! I took this picture last week at the park and loved the colors I was able to capture, so I jumped into my kit and grabbed a few of the BoBunny, enchanted fall line and started layering. I also cut that Fall memories piece from one of the cut a part pages and theres a few and thats nice! There great for making cards too!

I did grab a few things that I had left over from last months kit and used them on this layout as well. The FYI wood veneer is from last months kit and I just darkened its color with some Tim Holtz distress ink. And for the title I used some of the word thickers from the Septemeber kit. I added a few clear stickers from my stash to finish the title and a little bit of wood grain washi. I also did some splatters on my page with Tattered Angels chalkboard glimmer mist in Valencia, which you can fin in the shop too!

Fall this way,
Now for this layout I chose to work with some of the Echo park papers. I grabbed this orange sheet and placed it behind a sheet of white cardstock that I had sent threw my Silhouette. I loved the orange peeking threw! I then cut out different leaves with the solid colored papers from the Echo park line and a few from the BoBunny line. I added a strip of the BoBunny paper at the bottom too with a line of my wood grain washi.

I did a bit of fussy cutting, Wood floras by Echo Park has some really cool looking labels on one side, they have different little things on them, like the one above with the little acorn, some have a fox or mushroom, there all soo cute! I used the Wonder charm kraft thickers that came in the kit for the Fall part of the title and then I grabbed a flair buttin out of my stash that said this way and had that finish out the title.

I added a few of the acorn brads from last months kit, so love those!!

I added a bit of gold thread and a few word stickers by Tim Holtz and a few enamel dots, witch you can find in the shop as well, there by Echo Park.

I hope you enjoyed my layouts and I hope you come back to see what else I make and make sure you head over to the Birds Of a Feather kit clubs new blog and check out what the rest of the lovely ladies are making with the kits too!!

Stash scrappin Thursday/ Priorities

Hello and happy Thursday everyone!! Well I've seen others do stash scrappin on a certain day of the week and I think I'm going to shoot for that with Thursdays now. I do have a bit of a stash and need to make sure I use it as I add new things into the mix. I dont add a lot in to the mix, I think I really scrappy shop a few times a year, but I still need to get my stash used up too.

Now this layout was made with one of my more recent scrappy purchases, I'm using my Dear Lizzy Documented collection for this layout.

Ok so this layout is really a very simple layout, but I wanted to keep it that way. I kept almost everything light and airy with the bits of black and purpley color in there and tiny little bits of teal and that pretty yellow-ish green color.
I started out with that black and white paper with the days of the week on it, i sewed that to the bottom of the page. I like sewing on my pages, I like the little bit of texture it adds even if its tone on tone. I matted my photo on white cardstock and then onto the pretty water color looking paper with a piece of vellum on top of it to tone it down a bit. then I matted that with a thin line of black cardstock for some definition. I slid a piece of a doily in between the picture and the other layers for a pop of color.

At the top I added the other half of that doily, some thread, a little circle of vellum, that pretty hear rub on, really liking that color, and that pretty floral puffy sticker.

I used the title Priorities, because our kids are priorities to my husband and me, our family is. And in this picture he had taken time off work, even though he was busy to go to the library with our youngest daughter since she had been asking him for a while. Work is important but our children and family are too. I just loved this picture of them walking together.

This is the small cluster to the bottom left of the picture, I just added a piece of vellum, then layered the wooden gold stripped button and white thread and then finished it with that pretty puffy sticker that says, Love so big. I'm loving this color too, so happy to see that its coming back!

Well thanks for coming and checking out my layout today, I'm going to try and do a stash scrap every Thursday now, so hope you come back, fallow my blog for updates of when I post!!

Today was Awesome / Hip Kit Club CT

Good morning everyone!! Monday is over, whoo! I just found out today that this is a short week for my kiddos at school, this is a good thing, I just want to find something for us to do now lol. More notice is nice but we just may have a movie marathon one day, don't know lol

But I am here today to share a layout I made for the Hip Kit club creative team. This layout was inspired by the October mood board that was posted on the facebook page. And is here below.

I pulled from a lot of the colors in the mood board and the big arrow, but I did mine a light teal. I grabbed a piece of American Crafts Kraft cardstock from the cardstock kit and started layering. I wanted to use the arrow cut file when I saw the arrow in the mood board, so I grabber the Pebbles, Jen Hadfield, DIY home paper Blue skies and cut it out and then grabbed some twine from stash, laced it threw the little holes on the end of the arrow and then wrapped it around the end, just to add some texture. I layered a few pieces of Jen Hadfields washi paper behind the arrow, I liked the colors and thought they went well with the mood board. I used a piece of the American Crafts fountain cardstock to cut another citfile to layer behind the photo. I then went in with some of my scraps and started layering behind the photo.

I used one of the exclusive stencils in the kit and the Prima water color pencils on the background. I wanted a bit more of the black and white from the mood board so I grabbed another piece of the DIY home paper, ribbon stripes, and cut a strip for the top and bottom, added some coral ombre scalloped paper to both and then started to layer the pretty little embellishments.

Now I know there are so many pages out there that are titled something like this and no every day isn't awesome but man was this day Awesome!!

I hadnt seen my brother in years and he came up to help drive my parents down to Florida. My brother and his fam live there and my parents were moving down too. But I actually got to see him and hang out with him for 2 days and my youngest got to meet him and she loved him. So to me this day was truly AWESOME! I cant wait to see him again and his family and my parents. Face timing is now a big friend to us lol

Sorry back to the layout!! lol But I did make sure to add some Simple Stories wood veneer pieces in for the wood in the Mood board and plus I just love them!! I layered some of the Jen Hadfield stickers, Pink paislee cedar lane, stickers and the cute little Heidi swapp, make pretty stuff stickers.

Lastly I added my title and then that was it. I really hope you enjoyed my layout and I hope you head over the the Hip Kit blog and there facebook page for so much more inspiration!!

And dont forget to go check out the November kits and the December Daily kits that are up in the shop, they are so pretty and have some AMAZING exclusives in them!!

Remember / Lets get sketchy Design Team

Good Morning and Happy Monday!!

This last week or a bit more have flown by!! Between kids being sick, me being sick and then Halloween and family stuff, everything seems to have flown by and I have barley got to scrap! I'm joansing!!

Well Im here to share a layout I did for Lets Get Sketchy and this month were doing things a bit different over there. There is a mood board and a sketch!! And I have to say, I'm loving this!! The colors are so great for this time of year, just perfect!

And this is the sketch for this week. Brenshevia did a fantastic job with this sketch too!!

So with the combination of the two, this layout came together without a problem and soooo fast!

This is my grandparents and the pictures aren't the best, ones a but to bright and the other a bit dark but I love them! So I decided to use these and I dipped into my stash and grabbed some of my old crate paper and some of my Amy tangerine Cut&Paste and just started layering. I stuck really close to the sketch this time because it seemed like it was perfect for these pictures. I used a Heidi Swapp, gold, glitter sticker for the title and some gold color shine as well.

Well thanks so much for stopping by my blog today to take a peek and I hope that you come back. You should head over the the Lets get sketchy blog and play along to!! There are always monthly prizes and great inspiration!!
