Stash Scrap Thursday!! *Layout heavy*

Hey everyone, Thursday is here, so close to Friday!! lol And I'm back with another Stash Scrap.
This past weekend Paper Issues had an online crop and I'v been playing along and using up a bunch of my stash!! I think Ive only mannage to get 7 done so far, but I want to try and get more done before the 14th, thats the cut off for getting them entered in. You still have a but of time if you want to run over to facebook and look them up, Paper Issues Friends and fans, and all of the challenges are there! And lots of good fun talking too!

So here are my layouts and what challenge they were for:

This is me & my mom and this was Lisa's Attitude of gratitude challenge, you were to create a layout showing everyday gratitude. I used bits and pieces from my October Birds of a feather kit to create this layout

This is my oldest son back when he was first starting Kindergarten.  He was so happy and confident, it was amazing! This was Michelles get into Shape challenge. You were to use a repetitive shape threw the layout. I thought I would use my Pink Paislee memorandum 6x6 paper pad for this one because I loved all the pops of color with all the white I had put in this layout, I also grabbed bits from older Hip kits as well for embellishments.

This was for Color Cast Design mood board. This is the mood board:

I thought this picture was perfect for this mood board and I worked in all the colors but kept it very light and airy. The cold looks black in the photos lol, But I loved this picture of my youngest daughter with my hubby just checking out the water.

This was for A Flair for buttons challenge, you were to use at least one flair and extra points if it was one of theres. I didnt have any of theres :( so I grabbed my Basic Grey Aurora flair and my Shimelle  stash go to town. My title is Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful. And I chose that because I tried to get some good pics with all of us looking and smiling but hey there kids, lol. Ones not looking, neither am I lol, ones slining his head around to move away from his brother and ones cheesing and giving his brother bunny ears lol, Either way it was fun!

This layout is Leahs negative space challenge. You were to leave at least 2/3 of the layout blank. This is hard for me to do, as I'm guessing it is for a lot of scrappers lol. But I managed. I decided to grab an older pack of Heidi Swapp project life cards and the embellishments that came with it and went for it, this way I was still limited to what I was working with.

Now these next two I used my Birds of a Feather November kit. I had 2 layouts due for my DT obligations and a few of these challenges hit it right on the mark and I had just taken pictures the week before at the park that were perfect too so I grabbed my kit and pics and did these too.

Now this one was for Donas Orange challenge. You were to make a layout with orange in it and you got extra points if you used mixed media.
I cut the background on my Silhouette and places a piece of bright orange paper under it from Echo Park and then went to cutting out leafs with my Silhouette too. I added some acorn brads from another of my previous months BOAF kits, I finished it off with a little flair, some thread and Thickers from the kit.

And las but not least this is the last one I have for now and it was for Corries color challenge. You were to use green, orange and red.  This pic was in with the above from the park the week before and I loved the colors of the leafs so I used it and a few pieces from previous kits and it all cam together quite quick.

Im really hoping to get at least a few more done, I would have liked to get them all done, but I guess we will see!! I'll be posting more here in the next day or so, all by the 14th, so come back by and check them out and if you dont want to forget you can subscribe and youll never miss another post! Thanks and I hope you have a good rest of your day and hey think, tomorrow is Friday!!

Popey & Olive Oyl / Hip Kit

Hello everyone, Happy Friday!!
I've been playing with my October Hip Kits this week, loving all the pretty colors an patterns in them. The beautiful florals, polk a dots and stripes!! Love them, I'm a big pattern fan. :) But I also like my white space.

And I like the white space in this layout. I love sewing on my layouts and I didn't want the back ground to be to busy but I didn't want just a plain white sheet of cardstock either, I do that a lot. Theirs nothing wrong with it, but I just wanted a bit of a change up, so I used the cardstock that I backed my picture with and cut it into 1 inch strips and laid them across the page and sewed them down. I ran my fingers under the edges after sewing them down so it can be seen that their there and not stuck down.

After that I added a pice of Pebbles wood grain paper from the Jen Hadfield DIY home line, I also used the opposite side and added a little bit of the pretty floral to the page with cut ends. I remembered I had the beautiful Project life cards, made by Kim Watson. So I grabbed the one that said remember this and placed it behind the photo.
I wasnt there, this is actually my grandparents. My moms parents. They were so young and so cute together. They were only dating in this picture, but were together so long! I always told them that they reminded me of Popey and Olive Oyl. She was tall and skinny and he was a military man and in good shape, not cartoon Popey shape but in good shape. I just always love this picture of them, caught off guard when someone someone called out to them and they looked back. It just makes me smile.

I added a few bits here and there, a little man and woman from the Simple Stories, We are family wood veneers that were in the kit, a glittery heart and little banner that says love you more from the Pink Paislee, Cedar lane ephemera pack from the Project like kit. And then I used the Elaliciouse navy alphas from the project life kit and titled my page, with an ampersand from the DIY home printed chipboard shapes.
I added a little splash of Heidi Swapp color shine, gold lame, and that was about it.

I was really happy that I found this picture, I love that I can put them in my albums the way I want them to be looked at but can still be kept for my family to look at and ask questions about. My kids never got the chance to meet there great grandpa, he passed away before they were ever born. So to me this and the other photos I have of them are something I always want them to see and ask as many questions as possible, not only that, I want to write down as much as I can remember of all the things we use to do together and the kind of people they were, so that in some way they will know them in some way. That is definitely one of the things I love about this craft!

Ok, lol, Sorry for getting so sentimental, but that's how I get when I scrapbook my grandpa, my grandma is still around, but don't get to see her near enough, but I love that my kids can get to know some about the great man there great grandpa was when her was alive.
Well thanks for reading and checking out my blog. I'll have more this next week with my October Hip Kits, so I hope you come back by to see!! And if you haven't already, head over the the shop and check out the kits and check out the blog too! Tons of great inspiration there!! Have a great and safe weekend everyone!!

#So Many Blessings / Hip Kit CT

Good morning everyone!! Its Tuesday, so were past Monday!! whoo! The weekend is slowly getting closer! lol
Well I'm here today to share with you a layout I made for the Hip Kit Club Creative team, with the October 2015 Kits and some of the cutfiles that exclusive the the Hip Kit club. Some of the files are available if you are just a registered member but we do have some that are only available to subscribers too.

I used a cutfile from Nicole Nowosad along with a piece of paper from Pebbles, Jen Hadfield, DIY Home collection. I cut out six rectangles and made then slightly smaller then a 4x6 do that there would be a bit of white between each of them, I added some washi paper from Jens DIY Home line under a few of the cut outs and then sewed a few lines threw each card. After that it came together pretty easy. I did a little layering behind the photo with bits and pieces from the DIY Home line along with a card that says Hello from the printed chipboard shapes from the same collection as well. I also used an exclusive Project Life card created by Kim Watson, who also created the fall wreath behind my photos in the black and white paper from the DIY Home line.

After I got all of my cut files adhered down I started adding pieces from Pink Paislees Cedar Lane collection. That pretty feather paper clip, just so cute! The gorgeous acetate tag with gold foiling! And the pretty glittered gold hearts! Swoon!!

This picture was actually taken the first official day of fall this year, its still quite warm here, but not so hot that your dying from heat, but still nice enough to enjoy a nice cool Popsicle from the ice cream truck, lol

Well I hope you come join in on the fun over on Facebook page, there are weekly challenges that are so fun! And swing by the shop and check out the awesome kits!! The November kit is already up to look at!! Lots of exclusives in that kit!!
