You are here

Good morning everyone!! Happy hump day!! Half way threw the week, yay!! lol

I'm back today to share another layout I made with the Clique Kits prize back I got a few months back. So on my background I used the left over or negative pieces from a cut file and just sewed them to another piece of white cardstock, I like the white on white somethings.I did a bit of splattering with some of my glimmer mist and then I went to layering.

I loved that little camper and wanted to use it so bad but had absolutely not pictures of us and a camper and I still need to print some of our camping photos lol. My husband and oldest son were on a bus going on a field trip and they were going out in the woods so I figured, hey that'll work lol :) I love the way the papers go together and the great embellishments that just pop. And oh I love the puffy stickers!! lol
There isn't a ton to this layout, but I enjoyed making it. It took me less then 30 minutes and that's something I've been pushing myself with from time to time, especially when I'm in a funk. Try it sometime and see how you do, for me at times it kicks my mojo in and I get back in the groove of things. If you try it share what you make and let me know if you enjoyed it or if it was a bit to much pressure for you.

Birds of a feather Technique Tuesday

Hello everyone!! Im here today to share with you a little technique. A way to use up some of your scraps to make pretty embellishments, it also works to use just a bit of what you have to make embellishments for something you might just not have embellishments for already. I got this idea from watching Adele Toomey or as a lot of people know her, Inkie Quill over on youtube. This is something I use a lot anymore and thought it would be a great thing to share.

To make these little embellishments I pulled some scraps from what I had left of this months kit, a small heart punch, a 1 inch round punch and those little circle epoxy stickers, that I got from hobby lobby for a few dollars. The 1 inch circle punch it perfect for these.

I went a head and punched out a bunch of circles and hearts. I actually used some of these in a mini album I made with this months kit for a challenge in the forums, so you can go check that out too if you'd like. Now you can also ink the edges or add little work stickers, but you do have to make sure that you don't add to much or it wont stuck completely. You can also use doilies.

Now here are a few that I made and layered a few things on some of them and left some pretty plain, but come one that paper is so pretty it just works.lol. These make great embellishments, a little something more to go along with everything and you can make it they way you want.

I hope you enjoyed this little technique share today and hope you share what you make too!!

Hello Kitties/ You make my heart smile

Good morning everyone! I hope your Sunday is going well!
I scrapped a bit this weekend, but no where near as much as I'd have liked to. Unfortunately I had a migraine that wouldn't go away. But I did get a few layouts done, so thats a plus! :)

I made this layout with my September Hip Kit. I was playing along over at The Crafty Maven Getaway Destinations online crop and these were a few of the layouts I made for the challenges. And on top of playing along on the challenges, I also scrap lifted this layout above, from Tiffani Nelson
Im not to comfortable with mixed media yet, still playing with it to get more comfortable, but I did use modeling paste and added some of my champagne gelato to it to make the color. I used some washi tape around the edges of the cat cut file so that when I was putting the modeling paste on it wouldn't get every where. Look at me trying to make something thats suppose to be a little messy and making it all clean! Im such a dork, lol, guess I still have some work to do with my mixed media fears, lol.

And this little one is my youngest baby girl. So sweet and little. Shes not so small now, lol.
Well I made this layout with my August Hip Kit. I dont have much of it left but I'll use it all!! lol
I did add bits and pieces from my past hip kits, I also added a studio calico badge, some gold thread and cut files.

Hello Pretty Girl

Happy Saturday everyone!!
I have a layout for you that I've used for 2 challenges actually. Last night was an online crop for paper isses, it was Beckys Birthday crop. And I must say it was a lot of fun!!
There was a Bingo! Chat and a scrappy challenge.

This layout is from that challenge. A layout Becky had made was what we were to take inspiration from. I also had a challenge to make a layout in 30min for the online crop with The Crafty Maven getaway group on facebook. So I used this to my advantage. I've enjoyed both online crops and am going to participate in another on this afternoon with the pink camera community on facebook. You can still head over to the Pink camera community's page on facebook and join in. Lots of fun and chatting!

Hope you come and join in in these different scrappy communities on facebook!

Wonder

Popping in today to share a layout I made with my September Hip Kit. There are weekly challenges posted on Hip Kit clubs facebook page. I made this for one of those challenges. There were three to choose from adn the one I chose was to embellish around a large shape. I also used the July download, when your a member of the kit club you also get free downloadable cut files each month.

I picked the pin wheel looking one because of the photos I decided to scrap. I love the fact that my son was playing with one and I had this awesome cut file that went perfectly! Just like these papers!

Everything matched my photos so well, it was so easy for this layout to come together.

What a day

Im really loving my Dear Lizzy Documentary line!! Just saying ya know? lol

This is my beautiful daughter and unfortunately this day she want feeling good at all. I know you other moms know how much it sucks when your little ones feel yucky and there's nothing you can do about it. Well here was one of those days for me. I held her, loved on her and rubbed her back when she wanted me to, but that was all I could do. :( But she went and crawled into be and crashed out, and I checked on her a thousand times of course and thats where these pictures came from. She actually looked like she was ok for a few min. Shes better now but I still like to document when things aren't that great too.

Now these papers were amazing though!! They are thick and great quality and the embellishments!!! LOVE!! I actually broke into this collection for a challenge over on the Crafty Maven getaway destination group over on facebook. They had an online crop this past weekend and we still have a few more days to get the rest done and submitted. You still have time to run over to FB and check them out and participate if you'd like!

I really love that I have this collection, I think my problem always is that I don't end up with enough embellishments lol. And that's all on me :) I love to over embellish at times and I've been a good girl lately and held back! But I have so much more of this collection to play with so you'll be seing tons more with it!! lol

Hope you have a good day and come back and check out some more of my stuff later this week!!

Kidney Stones

Good morning all!!! Hope your week is going well? I've been a bit down, I guessing I'm catching or attempting to not get what everyone else in my house had this past week had! So just feeling kind of tired and sickly, blah!

On the plus side, I did break into my September Hip Kit!! I'm not getting a bunch done but I have got to play with it! Love the mix between the Amy Tangerine Finders keepers, Dear Lizzy Documentary and a bit of Elle's Studio Thankful in there too!!

I dont know if it was me being sick or what, but I decided to scrap this picture of my poor hubby. We had no idea what was wrong with him, but we went to the ER in the middle of the night and it turned out he had some quite large kidney stones. It took weeks and the doctors thinking that they were going to have to use radiation to break them up, but he finally passed them, it was not fun and a scary situation for us.

I started with a cut file from my silhouette, it was one from the Hip Kit club. One from July. I altered it a bit in my studio and then sewed it down and added some mists. I added the Dear Lizzy Bear hug paper to the bottom and top, since I had done this with a white cut file and a white background, I licked the little bit at the top and bottom so that the picture and cut file didn't look like they were just floating in the middle. Sounds goofy but its how I liked it. I layered papers from Amy Tangerines finders keepers collection, Seeker and Elles Studio Fun times, I also added a little paper bag from my stash. I added parts of these papers to the top boarder and the bottom.

I did a bit of sewing and added a few enamel pieces from past kits. I like the way it turned out. It may not have been a great time in our life and it wasn't fun, but it was part of our life and I thought it should be documented too.

Well I hope your week keeps going well, I hope I feel better soon, I'm itching to get scrapping more!! And I hope you come back by to see what else I'm posting later this week!!

Hot Chocolate & Yummies/ Lets get sketchy

Hello everyone, hope your doing good. I'm a bit better then I was, had sickies at home last week taking care of them and then, yep thats right, I got it too!! No fun!!

But I did get a bit of scrapping do so that was nice. Now this week over at lets get sketch there's a fantastic sketch up designed by by Laetitia

This was my take on the sketch. I had some fun with it and used food as my subject lol. This picture was from last winter when we were stuck home for a few days because of the weather, I promise my kiddos didnt mind that cause we did tons of backing and playing in the snow. And these yummies in the picture, my older kiddos helped bake.
I used my July Hip Kit to make this layout, because I loved all the bright colors and the great food themed embellishments that were in this kit.

Head over to the Lets get sketchy blog and check out what the other lovely ladies have made and join in as well. There is a great prize this month from Scrapbook circle. Thanks for coming by and hope to see your work submitted over there too!!

Discovery Museum

Happy Thursday!! Its almost Friday!!! Woo-Hoo! lol
This week really seems to have flown by so fast! I'm ready for the weekend and a bit of rest time! This week was my birthday and my hubby took me out to dinner and a movie and it was nice, but I didn't take any photos!!!!!!! Can you believe that?? Insane. The only picture I got was one of me taking a selfie when I was getting ready lol. I kept my phone turned off most of the time after we left.
So it doesn't look like I'll be scrapping my bday lol, I never do that, weird. Anyways....

This layout was from a field trip we went on with our kids school and it was soooo much fun. I love that they have places like this where kids and parents or adults can be hands on with the stuff inside, to me it makes it way more fun!
I used my Clique Kits prize pack I won a few months back, Im actually getting to use it!! lol. But I love all the Crate paper Journey collection. Its all so pretty and can be used for more than just travel or trips. But I guess this was a trip to, just not far from home lol.

I loved layering everything, the paper that looks like cork was awesome, I like how it added texture. I have a few more layouts coming from this group, come back and check them out!!

Hip Kit DT call Layout

What??!!? Another post in the same day!!?? lol
This is the layout I made for the Hip Kit design team call.  I have been subscribed to them for over 6 months and have always been happy with there kits and the customer service is amazing!! You can message them a question and there back to you so fast, it surprised me to honest the first time because I got an email back with in a very short period of time! Those reasons are really some of the main reasons I want to be part of there amazing team.

I used Crate papers Journey collection to make this layout, I had already used up all of my August kit and was waiting on my September kit, lol. So I grabbed this collection out of my stash and went to town.

This is my oldest daughter, we were at a childrens library and she was having a blast! In this library the kiddos don't have to be extremely quiet and they have really cool learning toys to play with that are made by kids too. There are all kinds of comfy places to sit and read books or even listen to them while you read along. My kid just love this place!!
This is where she decided was a good place to read, so I snapped a pic of her while I could! lol before she turned around and started with her book.

I had fun with this layout and all the layering I did. I love to layer if you cant tell, lol I sis add some barley there pink circles to go along with the pink/red in this collection and I did that with my gelatos and a scrap paper. I rubbed my finger over my gelato and then rubbed it around the scrap paper so that it wouldn't be to bright. To finish it all off, I added a little water to some of the same gelato and splashed it across the page along with a little Heidi Swapp color shine.

Hope you like my layout and Keeping my fingers crossed about the design team, the call closes tomorrow and tomorrow is also my Birthday!! lol Cant wait to hear!!

You should go check out Hip Kits kits if you haven't already, they are AMAZING!! And sneak peeks for Octobers kits start soon!!! Cant wait!!

Brush-a Brush-a / Birds of a feather

Good morning everyone!! Well this weekend over at Birds of a Feather we've been staying busy with a little online crop. There have been prizes and lots of fun! And if you still want to get in on some of it you can. You have until September 16th to participate and upload your projects from the challenges, so hope to see you over there!!

Now I'm up on the blog over there today with a few layouts I made with the September kit. This thing was pack full of beautiful papers and amazing ephemera!! Not to mention an entire bottle of Dylusions ink!!

This is my youngest little booger here. She has got to where she is really big on doing things for herself and shes only 2, crazy!! And she loves to brush her teeth, lol, this pic is where she went and got the stool and told me she was a big girl and walked in the other room. I kinda giggled and then decided I might need to follow her and see what she was doing. I walked down the hall, hear the water running and looked and she was fully ready and brushing her teeth. Such a big girl and too soon!

I did use some American crafts glitter embossing powder on my layout, I loved the look it gave my vellum, the little touch of texture and of course the gold!! And I used my Silhouette to cut out my title.

It amazes me how you can use these beautiful We R Memory Keepers papers for so many different things. From my daughter brushing her teeth, a card, a mini album and layouts! Love it!!

This here is my daughter at a park we happened upon when exploring a little city. This place was awesome and the kids loved it, I still have more pics from this place to scrap, so there's more to come! lol But she loved this and climbed all over this jungle gym.

These papers and pretty ephemera made it so easy to scrap these pages. I wish I would have got more of these papers and might have to go order them out of the shop, that flower paper I used for the background on this page would have been perfect for water coloring!

Well thanks for coming by and checking everything out. Remember, there are still challenges going on at Birds of a Feather in the forums that you can go participate in and maybe win some prizes!! Hope to see you over there!!

Hello xoxo / My level of muturity

I've really enjoyed playing with Augusts kit, but this seems to bring it to an end, now time to play with my September kit!!
I used my August kit for both of these layouts. Everything in this kit was amazing! You can make a really bright layout or a more soft layout like this one.

Another selfie of me and our youngest. Theres a lot of these with me and my kiddos, lol. I used a cut file from my Silhouette cameo for the heart, sewed the acetate triangles from Pink Fresh Studios onto my layout with gold thread and then made a few thread bunches around the page with my embellishment clusters.

I added some confetti in on the layout that I punched from one of the Studio Calico papers, along with a few pieces from the wonder collection and dear Lizzy chipboard stickers.

Now this layout I did for a challenge from the Victoria Marie facebook group. It was called 5 things challenge. You could only use 5 simple things:

1. Twine (or some type of fiber or ribbon)

2. Pattern paper and/or solid card stock

3. Handmade letters to use for your title (tricky, tricky!!)
4. Die cuts
5. Wood veneers (substitute acrylics or cork if needed)

I chose a rather long title lol, dont know if Ill do that again!! lol. I traced some of my thickers out on the paper I wanted to use and then went to cutting. I like the way it came out though. This is me and my bestie being goofy, this is normal for us lol.

Super girl

I love this page! I know, it probably sounds horrible since I made it, lol But I just love it!
My youngest daughter was a super hero for Halloween last year and has continued to play with the cape and mask ever since. There her super powers, as she calls them.
She ran in the room one say said something about being super girl and ran off but I managed to snap a quick pic. I know its not a perfect picture, its fuzzy and nope shes not looking at me, but shes so stinking cute!

I used my August Hip Kit to make this layout and man was I happy with the Crate paper Wonder papers and ephemera that was in this kit. It was perfect!! The entire kit has been amazing. I'm still trying to stretch it out to make more!! lol
This layout isn't really in depth or difficult but it showcases the picture and that's all that matters to me. I did a little layering of the papers, some sewing, and that's starting to be something I'm doing a lot, lol. I added a little dimension with a few pop dots here and there, added a few chipboard pieces from the Dear Lizzy darling details sticker sheets from the embellishment add on.

Up on the BOAF Blog today with a layout, mini album and online crop

Good morning everyone!! Hope your week is going well, its Thursday, almost the weekend!! Witch also means that its almost time for the online crop over at Birds of a feather kit club!! Come and play along with us, join in and have fun!! Maybe even win a prize!

What I have here for you is one of my challenges for the crop. I'm doing a sketch challenge and here is the sketch I created for it. Play with it, tweak it, put your own twist on it and let us see what you come up with it!!  I will have a small RAK for both of my challenges. One for each challenge, I will choose the random winners on Sunday.

Here is my take on the sketch. I used my September Birds of a feather kit, which it packed full of beautiful We R Memory Keepers Wildflower papers!! I love these colorful papers and pretty ephemera.

I added some texture using gold glitter embossing powder from my stash, I thought the gold went well with the pretty accents in the ephemera bit.

Now for my 2nd challenge with the online crop, I want you to create something with canvas. Your project needs to be at least 50% canvas. You can make a layout, card, mini album, whatever you'd like, but it needs to be at least 50% canvas.

Now I made a mini album for my example. I pulled the Prima canvas mini from my stash and a few epoxy rounds to make embellishment and the rest was from my September. Just a tip for adhering onto canvas, you can use scotch quick dry, I have had problems with it popping off later, so I use Aleene's tacky glue and it has been working fantastically for me!

These are the first few things I've made with this months kit and I cant wait to play with it more, I think I'm going to get a lot of good use out of this kit!! I already have multiple pictures pulled to play with!
Come by and check everything out in the Hen house play along with all the great challenges and get to know us a little better!!

1st day of school/ Back to school blog hop/ And Giveaway!!

Good morning everyone!! Hope your mornings going good.
Well I'm happy to say that I'm participating in a back to school blog/youtube hop. The theme is back to school and its being hosted by Crafty Meggy. There are a bunch of other amazing ladies participating as well!! I will have all there links at the end. Please go by and check all of there videos and blogs out!

The photo on my layout is from last year casue I still need to get mine from this year printed. lol yeah I'm a little behind.

I stuck close to primary colors with my layout. My boys look goofy! They hate posting for pictures, so every year when I try and get them to pose for the 1st day of school I always get a big cheesy smile. But I love it! I really used scraps for this layout. I have a bin in my scrappy room that is just for scraps that I think I'll use again later and thats where all these came from. There a mix of papers from Heidi Swapp, American Crafts, and Basic Grey. I pulled out some old wood veneer from Studio Calico, the camera, and I cant remember where the Yay one came from, it was just in my stash. I pulled some old Maya Roads too! I love them! But I grabbed a chipboard ring that had a bunch of boy themed things on it from Maya Roads and used the boys one and added some blue chunky glittered letters from American crafts.

This layout is a bit basic but I love it and was happy with the way it turned out.

Now I also made a mini album for my kiddos. This is only the 1st one, still need to make 2 more, lol. I have 3 that are school aged and need one for each. But I made this to keep track of things threw the year.

It has a place for there 1st day of school, favorite teacher, little achievements and the last day of school too. So a beginning to end. I didnt embellish a ton on it right now, I thought as I go threw the year and add the photos, that I'll add more.

Well I hope you enjoyed my layout and my mini album. And I really hope that you will continue on to the other blogs and youtube channels and check out all the other layouts these amazing ladies have created!!

Also as a plus, I would like to add in a giveaway!! U.S only, Sorry!! Create a layout and  post a link in the comments below by the 15th and I will pick one random winner. I will contact the winner by the 16th to get your info for your RAK. Thanks so much for playing along and cant wait to see what you come up with!!!
