Scrappy layout and rambling

Hey everyone! It's been a while, hu?

Life has been crazy for a while now, but for the most part, a good kind of crazy. With quarantine and all, I've had a lot more time at home but not a lot more time lol. We've been working on the house. Since all the stuff was already just sitting there in the garage, so making headway there. The kids are going a little stir crazy, but we've been finding things to do, so thats a plus. I'm betting everyone is having some issues keeping kids entertained lol. I have got my littles and not so littles no, (my oldest is taller than me!!), into doing more crafts. My youngest recently turned 4 and she got a really cute journal and some great gel pens, along with a bunch of other stuff, and she was so excited about her pens and journal. She looked at me and told me that now she could do like me. She went to drawing and writing about her birthday. I thought that was awesome. The girls with scrap with me more than the boys, but they get into painting. Canvases, walls, hydro dipping shoes and other things. It's definitely interesting lol. On another note...

Right around the corner school will be starting again, we're doing online learning....So yeah that should be fun lol. No for real, I'm looking forward to it, but I know it's going to be a challenge. I've dabbled with the idea of home schooling forever, but never took the leap, now I got pushed or shoved lol. So, it is what it is. We will make the best of it. *Fingers crossed* No, really I think we will be just fine.

I have been playing with my scrappy things. I have rearranged my scrappy space, like 3 times lol. But I haven't really been posting anything. So I figured it was about time. I am trying to get back to some kind of normal in my life and I also kind of miss it.

I'm not on any design teams at the moment, so this isn't for a DT, but I did use a lot of my Bella Blvd stash on this layout, Illustrated Faith paints too. Really I started this with the paper with the crosses on it. I had pulled out my IF paints and started painting some of the crosses. I had my goofy, but very poor quality, snapchat pics and decided to scrap them.
I have been working on myself in many ways, health, attitude, emotional and more. It's been needed. So when I remembered I had some of these things in my stash still, I decided to use them.

I started adding things here and there, layering die cuts, tags, stickers and knew I wanted to use some washi. But I wanted more color, So I grabbed an old gift card, scrapped it in some of my left over pain and scrapped it across a few places on my layout, where I had already had a few things clustered around.

I hit the paint with my heat gun for a minute and then went back to re stacking everything. Adding little things here and there that I found in the collections.

I knew my title when I started so I added it, some splatters and that was it. Now looking at it, I think I might go back and add some stitching, but we will see lol. I always think there is something else I can do to it to give it a little more umph.

Well I hope y'all liked my layout and I hope to keep sharing more with y'all coming up again soon along with more rambling about life and the new normal that were all having to learn lol. Hope all is well with everyone and hey, if your not a blog reader, head over to instagram and check out my page there:https://www.instagram.com/mother0froyalty/?hl=en

Then you don't have to read all the ramblings to see the layout lol. I also have a facebook page for all things scrappy, you can swing by and check that out too if you want:https://www.facebook.com/scrappinmylittleroyals

Thankful / Bella Blvd DT

Morning everyone! I'm a little late posting this one! lol
So with my layout, I chose pics of my kids from over the last year, just to show the different stages and things that they do. They aren't spacifac to anything, just little things they have done and the memories I have just looking at them. I'm thankful for all the little stages they go through and the memories they give me to cherish.

I pulled the pictures I decided to use and then grabbed a collection I wanted to use,Oh my Stars collection. I also grabbed a few things from the Alex collection and some of the Hears and hugs!! Love them by the way, the texture they add to the layouts, cards and any project you decided to make.

I haven't used a dark background in a while, I've also been watching some youtube videos with water colors and acrylics, so I decided I would play with the Illustrated Faith water colors on this one. I knew the papers I wanted to use were all on the bright/light side so I thought the background, being dark was going to be ok, to me it made it all pop from the center of the layout.
I mixed some of the paint and watered it down and started splattering it down the center of the layout. I thought I was only going to do the teal color, but once I saw how nice it was showing up on the black background I decided to add some yellow, white and a little bit of orange. I sat it aside to dry and started to work on my photo mat/layers.

I didn't want to add white mats to my photos cause I wanted to do a little close-line for them to hang from, so to have a good contrast between the background and my patterned papers, I added a white mat to my patterned paper.  I wanted to add a little more texture so I pulled out some of my old punches and punched a few places on my white mat and distressed the edges, and I did that to the rest of my papers too. I cut a large piece of patterned paper and added it to the center of my mat, cut another plain paper from one of the 6x8 paper pad and had that for the mat for my photos.

I started wrapping my embroidery thread around my mat and decided I wanted to add a little more color, so I cut a few strips of patterned paper and tucked them behind my blue photo mat. After I was happy with the colors and the way I had them tucked I put my embroidery thread back and added my photos on top and went to embellishing!!
I pulled out embellishments from Oh my stars, Alex and Hearts and hugs collections and started to pop and tuck things here and there. Like I said before, the hearts and hugs have such great texture, but little sayings on some of then and little rhinestones! And on top of that they have enamel dots to go with them!! So I grabbed some of those and popped them here and there where I had splattered the paint. After I added a few stickers, tabs, hearts and enamel dots, I decided to to pull out a few of the cute mini bows and add them to the close-line, more texture lol.
I hope you enjoyed this layout and make sure to come back and check out all the other great projects the team makes!!

Hey Girl Hey, water color fun/Bella Blvd DT

Good morning everyone!!
I'm here this morning to share with you a fun little mixed media project I made with Bella Blvd/Illustrated Faith water colors. These paints are beautiful and easy to work with, the colors blend so well and the colors are so bright!
I started my project with a circle cork wall hanging, I covered it in white acrylic paint, once that dried I used a stencil from my stash and some modeling paste and added some little doilies around the circle.
I let the doilies dry and pulled out Shanna's Favorites acrylic paints. I spritzed the whole thing with water, I grabbed the pretty, pretty pink and started adding it here and there on the cork circle, spritzing more water over the paint and tilting it here and there and letting the water run and drag the color over more parts. I went threw and did this with the dark blue and the teal as well. I loved watching it blend between the colors, blending some places into purple and bringing out the doilies on the background.
After letting the the cork circle dry, I pulled out All people All Nations and started layering pretty papers behind my photo and fussy cutting some flowers and leaves out of one of the papers and layered them in as well. I pulled bits and pieces from the ephemera pack and shapes. I used those to create my title on the right side of my photo and then moved on to the last bit of embellishing.
I pulled out the Basic words and added a few below my photo and to the left and then went in for the Hey Sugar,Sugar epoxy stickers. I love these and I keep reaching for them on all kinds of different projects! But I added these little beauties in a few spots and loved the pop of white and was happy.
