August Hip Kit!!

So totally late on this!!! I got this beautiful thing at the begging of the month but have been working threw my July kit still and playing with some other things so I'm just getting to it!

But come on, looking at this you have to know how hard it was for me not to mess with it!! All of that Pink Fresh Studio!! Die cut pack from Crate Papers new Wonder line, Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy thicker shapes!! And all the lovely GOLD!!! WOW!!

Here is my 1st layout made with this kit. My pretty little girl playing in her little kiddy pool last summer with the hose. She had so much fun, the other kids would try and get in with her and she would spray them!! So funny!! She would just giggle so hard.

I used a cut file from the Silhouette store and filled the little holes, that looked like water droplets to me, with some of the pretty papers. I did a little bit of layering behind the picture but not a bunch because I like the background and didn't want to pull a ton from it. I added some frames by Pink Paislee from my May Hip kit. I played with a piece of the beautiful Dear Lizzy masking tape tags. I added that pretty little yellow heart flair and some little bits of light pink thread around the layout like I've seen Missy Whidden do all the time, I love it!
Well off to scrap some more now that the little ones are down!

Scrappin my stash

Hey all, How have you been??
Weve been busy around here, still trying to get back in the swing of things with school starting back, but I think we have it down now with week 2 over. They're all really enjoying being at school, I think that our youngest is the one liking it the least! She misses her brothers and sister during the day. But Shes getting use to it too.

Well I've been diving into my scrappy stash lately, trying to use some of it up since I've been hoarding some of it,lol. Yeah I know we all do it!
I was on facebook a while back and saw a post by Maggie in the Pink Camera Community, putting up some challenges. I already posted one of the layouts I did for one of the challenges here last week and for some reason I never posted the other ones I made.

This one was add some stitching. And I did make sure I did that. I've been on a bit of a kick with sewing and circles, so why not combine the 2? Lol Well I used a We R Memory Keepers Archived collection for this one. I used some American crafts white cardstock, LittleB washi, Heidi Swapp color shine and some American crafts thickers.
Its all pretty simple, but I loved the picture of my Hubby and son playing there game together. They both love this game, I walked in from putting our youngest down and they were playing so I snapped a quick picture. They will sit and play this game forever!! But its there version of my scrapping I guess lol

Now this one was for the Back Then challenge. Now I have to say, this one didn't turn out how I wanted it to really. I love this picture of me and my sister back in the day, but I don't like how it seems all pink. You cant see any of the light teal color really. In person you can see it better, hummm.  But I used another We R Memory Keepers line here, I used a collection called Love Notes, some Paper Studios vellum,  Dear Lizzi washi tape, American Crafts thickers, bits and pieces from the Maggie Holmes open book collection and a few other things.
I mean I like how it has all the focus on the picture but I wish the teal showed more....
Im slowly working threw my stash because I want to order some new goodies soooooo bad!! Think I might have to break down and do it this week, there are just to many beautiful collections that have come out recently!!!

Killing my July Hip Kit

Good morning all! Its Thursday, the weekends almost here!!
Ok so its almost the end of August and I'm just now killing my July Hip Kit! lol I guess I didn't get as much scrapping done this summer with all the running around and fun! :)
These 3 layouts were the last of my July kit, I mean I have some scraps but not enough to make a page. And I have a little bit of embellishments and will be using them as soon as I can!

I took this picture with in the 1st week of being in our new place. Beautiful sunshine coming threw the windows, a great cup of coffee and a yummy cinnamon roll, yep a good morning!
I used Octobers afternoon, backyard lights for my background, some Fancy Pants, Just beachy for my triangles, tabs and pretty much the rest is from Elles studio line Lets eat.
I love my coffee so I wanted to document it :) and you'll probably see more pictures of coffee down the road, fall/winters coming and Starbucks will have yummy flavors out!!

I love this picture. My 2 daughters were just cuddled up in bed watching tv on the ipad, no clue anyone was around and my hubby snapped this picture of them, I swiped it from him :D Thank you hunny!
I didnt want to do to much around this picture, I just wanted them to be the center of attention. So I layered papers behind them, added a doilie from my stash, a few pieces from the crate paper poolside chipboard sheet we got. In the frame it juts says, Oh happy day! and then a little tag under it saying relax. Thats just how I felt about this picture.
I know they wont be like this forever, they'll start to fuss and fight, and it has started a bit already, but I love that for right now they still cuddle with each other and love spending time with each other
Well I finished this layout with little pieces put on each corner and then adding the little enamel triangles by Chickaniddy crafts.

And heres the last one! On my background I used a cut out from my silhouette and sprayed it with some of my tattered angels chalkboard glimmer mist, I like the way it turned out. I layered a few papers and added some sewing, added some great chipboard pieces again from Crate paper poolsides collection, that included my title, Hot Hot Sunshine! I love this thought, they had so much fun at this splash park!

Now I know none of these layouts are really intricate or anything but I love how they turned out. These papers were fantastic to work with and the embellishments were so fun!! If you haven't checked out Hip kit club yet you need to head over and check out there new kit for September!! Its soooooooo pretty!!

Now off to try and finish my August kit before my September kit get here!! Lets see if that happens!!

Up on the Birds of a feather blog today with the technique Tuesday!

Good Morning all!! Hope the beginning of your week is treating you good!
Well I'm here today with a little technique playing with distress inks.  Now I didn't come up with this by any means, I actually saw Adele Toomey or Inkie Quill but I thought it was a great way to play with distress inks, a kind of mixed media I guess.
I'm not huge into mixed media, I like it, but I think I'm more scared of it than anything lol. I'm kinda intimidated of it, but I'm trying to change that.
So this is what I started with:
I grabbed 3 of my favorite distress inks at the moment, a card and some little sponges. I started with one color and eventually blended them all three together.
When I'm happy with the way it looks I grab a water bottle I keep in my scrap room and get some on the tips of my fingers and flick and splash it over the ink. You can do as much or as little as you'd like.

I let this set for a minute or so and then I take a paper towel and lay it over the top of the card, press down and then pull it off.
It looks like this after. It pulls the ink out and I love the way it looks. To me it looks like it gives it texture but when you run your hand over it there's no difference. Now if your not happy with it, you want more? Just do it again. I play with it till I'm happy.
So here is my card. I used a few things from the kit and a few things from my stash. I was happy with the way this card turned out. I also made this card for Jen T.s card sketch challenge. You can click there or you can find it in the forums and play along if you'd like. There are other challenges going on there too!! There all fun to play along with, so hope to see you over there in the forums and hope you enjoyed my card and the technique I shared.

Few layouts with my July Hip Kit!!

Here again tonight with a few more layouts I made with my July Hip Hit.
I had so much fun making this layout! This is my older daughter and my sister just goofing around, we do that a lot! lol But I love there faces! So funny and cute!
The papers are always fun to play with and always match up with the previous kits I've gotten and it looks like there going to keep matching!!
I pulled pieces from a few of my past kits, my may and june kits, I only have small pieces left from them all but I keep them together so that I can use them all together. I guess I might be weird in that way but I'm ok with that.

This second pic is a collage pic of a fun day at the park, now we do this a lot too so I usually have a bunch of them!! lol But the kiddos are so fun to take pictures of when there having so much fun!

Clique Kits prize pack Late posting!! and a layout from an online challenge!

Wow, So I've had this awesome kit I won from a Clique Kits blog hop/Pep rally and I never posted it!!! I cant believe I forgot! I really cant see how I did!! I mean look at the beautifulness!!
I still haven't even broke into it other than to take this picture! Lol, but now that school has started and things are settling down and were all getting back into a groove, I'm finally getting to scrapbook more! So I'm planning on breaking into this in the next few days.

Now this layout is one that I did for a challenge over at the Pink Camera Community on facebook. Maggie Mylow is the one who posted the challenges and they were so much fun. I got in late on them, so I only ended up finishing 5 out of the 7, but they were all fun!!
You can find the group on facebook by searching for Pink Camera Community and then Maggie also has a youtube channel where you can watch her create beautiful things!!

This was the 1st challenge in the PCC, it was to use project life cards, you got em use em!! So i used my We R Memory Keepers, Inked Rose set that I have, the background is a We R Memory Keepers paper from the love notes collection and then a sheet of American Crafts white cardstock. I got the inspiration for this layout from a layout Susie Fishburne made, really I pretty much scraplifted it!
She is amazing and if you dont know who she is you need to go check her out. Her blog is so good to read and shes also got a group on facebook called Faith Hope Washi. Just search for it and you'll find it. It is a great community of scrappy women that share there scrappy stuff and have some really great conversations.

Go check out the sites on Facebook and Susies blog!! I hope you enjoyed my layout, join my circle so that when I post you'll get an update and wont miss anything!! Hope to be sharing some layout made with that beautiful Clique Kit it got, so stay tuned!!

#teambeanie and more/BOAF

Good morning everyone!! I'm up and at em this am, getting kids and the hubby off to work and school. So its a bit quieter here around the house, not completely but quieter lol
But I'm here to share 2 layouts I made for the Birds of a feather kit club design team.
When I first got this kit I automatically thought summer photos because of all the bright and beautiful papers and embellishments. But I wanted to steer away from that, so I chose this picture of me and a few friends in the middle of winter this last year. Here in Arkansas we got snow a few tie and they tried to shut everything down, but we decided to go check it out and see how things were out and about. So naturally, we took a selfie! lol.

I have issues cutting some of my favorite papers up so I decided to use this beautiful Websters pages paper for the background. I layered some of the other papers from the kit, which were all beautiful and hard to cut up!! I grabber a few things from my stash and added them. Then I remembered that I had those BoBunny butterflies from the kit and decided I wanted to add them. I pulled a few of my gelatos out and made them have a faded color like the background, added the title and a few splats and it was done!

Now here is my goofy cat, well one of them. Apparently I wasn't showing him enough love when I was hanging off my bed reading, so he flopped down in the middle of my book and just stared at me. lol.
I noticed that the Kaiser craft sticker sheet from the kit had a read sticker that I liked but didn't want to use red so I grabbed the blue cardstock and sent it threw my Silhouette and cut out a similar shape, layered some of the papers, added a boarded on top and bottom, cut out a mini cat head from the natural orange paper, added a few stickers and then added the title. I love these blue glitter thickers from American crafts!!! Anyways lol, And to finish it I added some tattered angels chalkboard glimmer mist splats, you can find this in the Birds of a feather store too! And that was about it.

I hope you come by there blog and check out everything all the other girls make. Stay tuned to there blog too, theres a little whisper going around that there might be an online crop coming up!!

Frog boy and the tornado shelter/Lets get sketchy

Good morning all!! I'm here today with a layout I created for the Lets get sketchy design team!
We have an great sketch created by Bev Code. I really enjoyed playing with this sketch and I hope that you will come and join in on the fun!!

Here's my little frog boy and my take on this weeks sketch. I used papers from a We R memory keepers Achieved collection. Along with a Silhouette cut file, Tim Holtz black soot distress ink, Heidi swapp black color shine and a few other things.
I love these pictures though. They were of a scary situation, we were in a tornado shelter, as the title suggests lol, but he was fine. Jake was happy and playing when the tornado was right on top of us, as long as he had his frog hat on. It was like his own little secret super power. My oldest son was really scared, be he had seen what could happen in tornados to, this was really a first for Jake. But I snapped a few pictures when we were down there and thought they would be good to scrap, and tell about his own little secret super power lol.

I hope you liked my take on the sketch Bev created and I hope you come by the Lets Get Sketchy blog and play along. Now this months our challenges are sponsored by Scrap Much? They are an online and mobile store, so you can go check them out too and see the new products they keep there store stocked with. But they are also offering a $25 gift card for the winner of this months winner! So there's another incentive to come and join in on the fun!!

Crazy Fun

Here's another layout made with my July Hip Kit.
This is probably one of the least busy layouts I've ever made lol. I cant say it enough, how much I've been loving this kit, and again I think I say that every months, but hey its true! lol
So I chose some of my faves from the kit, and who am I kidding?, there all my faves!! I took this goofy photo of  me, my hubby and our oldest at a field trip last year, we had so much fun!! We went to the zoo with his class, walked around with seven of his friends and took TONS of pictures!!
I thought these October Afternoon papers just made the pictures pop! I used some of the Elles Studio, Crate paper and Simple stories for layering.
I love that the picture is front and center even with the bright, eye popping papers. Well off to play with more of this beautiful kit!!

If you get the Hip Kit, let me see what you make with it!!

Park fun icecream yum/ First week in our new place

Things are slowing down here with only one week left of summer :( We already finished all the school shopping, so really were just enjoying our last week before school starts. We've enjoyed our summer though, the boys started cooking this summer and have loved it, done some camping, went swimming a lot, done some traveling and a lot of really great family time. I always hate to see summer go, but it has to. Now I get to take pictures of the beginning of school!! Field trips and all kinds of stuff lol

Well anyways enough with more photo ops, with everything slowing down I'm getting a bit more scrapping done. So I finally broke into my July Hip Kit. I feel so behind just breaking into it lol. But I've got my mojo and loving this kit! I think thats said with each and every kit I get from Hip Kit club, they always seem better and better every month!! lol Im so excited for August kit already!! lol

So this was my 1st layout made with my July kit. It was actually for one of the past challenges on there facebook group. These are always fun to join in on! Sometimes the challenges push me outside my comfort zone and I love to be pushed there, you never know what you'll come up with. The whole kit if full of amazingly bright and sunny colors. So I grabbed a collage picture of my kids and a friends kiddo at the park.

Here's my second layout made with the kit. This is a layout about our first week in our new place, thus the title, lol. There just four random pics from the 1st week that made me happy. The 1st photo is our youngest daughter sitting in an empty suite case with the almost empty gallon of milk, drinking it!lol She grabbed it out of the fridge and decided she was going to drink it. The 2nd is of our cats. They stuck together all week, I guess they were inseparable with it being a new place, but they were so sweet the whole time. The 3rd is my mom and our three older kiddos. She came up to hang out and help unpack but I think most of the time she spent playing with the kiddos, but thats what grandmas are suppose to do right?lol The last picture might seem weird, but in our last house we had a lot of trees, so that meant not a lot of sun light coming in the windows, just a lot of shade. Well this was our 1st morning here, I got up early before everyone else to have a nice quiet cup of coffee. I loved seeing the sun come threw the windows across the wood floors. Just a few things I loved when we 1st moved in.

Well I'm off to watch a movie with the family and then to do dinner. Hope you have a great day and if you haven't, go check out Hip Kit Club

Target Princess/ Our Life Memories BOAF

I'm up on the Birds of a Feather blog today with 2 layouts I did with this months bright and beautiful kit.

I used Websters pages for the background on this one and even did some fussy cutting to fill in some of the white space I left around the edges. These pictures of my youngest aren't the best but I love the fact that I caught her wearing the crowns like she does ever time we go into Target, lol. We always buy at least one crown when we go in. I did a little sewing to add a bit more texture without adding to much to the page and added a few of the stickers from the Kaiser Craft sticker sheet we got in the kit, then I ripped a part one of the bright orange flowers so that I could add them behind some of my stickers and pictures. I did pull my grey dotted washi from my stash because I just like washi, lol, but the rest is from the kit.

Now with this layout, I chose a Websters pages background again, and a few of the brighter colors that were in the picture and started playing. I added a bit of mixed media with an older Prima stencil that had a leaf pattern, then a few silhouette cut files, did some layering of papers and some sewing and was done. I added a few of my Tim Holts small talk stickers because they fit so well talking about adventure and living life.

Pop over to the BOAF blog and check out what the other girls do with this pretty kit!

Lets get sketchy/ Lets stay home

Today is the the reveal of Augusts week ones sketch for  Lets get Sketchy!! I just so happen to be on team A, so that means I'm up on the blog today with some other amazing womans.
Jenessa Franco did a fantastic sketch for everyone to get inspiration from, go by the Lets get Sketchy blog and check it out, maybe even participate and get an entry in for yourself. You never know you might get Artist of the week!

Heres the fantastic sketch Jenessa Franco created:

And here is my take on the sketch:

I got into my stash and pulled out things from a few different collection. My background is DCWV from there DIY projects stack. I love the line Jen Hadfeild made with Pebbles, Home+Made. So I grabbed my 6x6 Pebbles paper pad and some of my embellishments from Maggie Holmes open book collection and went to to town.
These papers are so pretty and I love them, so I've hoarded them since I got them lol. But I finally decided to pull them out and play with them and I like the fact that I had printed these pictures out in B&W casue then, lucky me, they go with everything lol. I finished my Layout off with some Heidi Swapp Gold lame color shine.

Now if you haven't already, head over to the Lets get sketch blog and join in with the fun!!
