LIfe is good cards - Bella Blvd DT

Good morning everyone!
So I made some cards with the Home sweet home collection to share with you today, and I lost them!!! I'm in the process of moving and have other people helping me and someone packed my scrappy goodness! So I was frantically going threw boxes trying to find them and I finally did!!
I have to say I'm not a huge card maker, so most of mine are pretty simple, but I still think there pretty. I actually made them for people that have been helping me fix up my new house and helping me move in. That made it much easier for me to make them too.
I made all three of these out of one sheet of paper and some of the embellishment that go along with the Home sweet home collection, with a few heart hugs added in.
I started with this card, I loved the teal color so I chose that as my background. It actually said Friends are our chosen family, but I covered that up with the opposite side of the patterned paper. I grabbed both the ephemera words and the ephemera icons, pilled out the hearts and layered them on. I ruffled up the edge of the paper the hearts were on, drew some lines to make it look like stitching and then grabbed that AMAZING rainbow washi tape and added some to the top and bottom of the card for some more color and moved on to my next card.
I added lines to the edge of this card as well, kinda wanted to keep that theme going since I had already started it on the other card. I loved the little houses and because I'm giving these to people that have been helping me in my move, I thought they were great. I covered the words on the card with a cute scalloped sticker from the Doohicky sticker sheet, and I love that, Doohicky :), and then added the together is our favorite place to be sticker and ruffled those edges up as well.

I thought the trees on here were already cute, but wanted to add some of the mini heart hugs and the regular heart hugs, so I layered two of the hearts, after peeling the sentiments off, and turned them in to some trees and added some of the enamel dots to the other tree for some more color.
Then onto my last card for this week. I layered some of the papers together, I love all of  the patterns in this collection so much by the way and I hope you do too!! There so bright and playful so are some many of the other new collection!!

After layering the papers I pulled some of the houses out of the ephemera icons and the ciao chip icons, wanted to keep with the house theme and hearts. So I added two of the houses, one was a chipboard piece, a little dimension, and  ephemera piece. I found the so thankful piece in the ephemera words and cut the ends to look like pennants, popped it up on some foam adhesive. Layered two hearts behind it, I loved that the yellow heart had a little heart on it too, made it feel like I was adding a third heart. I stuck them down and started to ruffle up the edges like I did on the other cards and added the lines to look like stitching and was done, nothing left to do but add my writing on the inside and send them to the people I made them for!
Thanks for stopping by yo see what I came up with today. If cards aren't really your thing, try to push yourself and see what you can come up with, even if there something easy like this. There still hand made and the people that receive them will love them and know you took the time to make it just for them!

A lovely reminder - Bella Blvd DT

Good morning everyone!
Back again with a new layout in a spring theme for Bella Blvd.

I really had fun with this layout. I did a lot of fussy cutting with papers from the Island escape collection, I mean really how can you not? The flowers are just so pretty!!

I started my layout by choosing a bright background and pulling out the Illustrated faith acrylic paints and dry brushing some of the white across the background. I wanted a little separation from all the flowers I knew I was going to add to the layout.

I pulled out the beautiful floral paper from the Island escape and started to fussy cut all the pretties. Once I had a the flowers out I started to lay them across the page on a diagonal. Once I had all the flowers lightly placed down, I added a few layers behind my photo and sat it where I wanted and then moved on to working on my title. I knew I was going to have a large title because I had picked it out before I even started my layout, lol. I knew what picture I was using and it was this one of my youngest daughter sitting in our front yard, enjoying the nice warm spring weather last year.
I was looking at this photo and looking at my daughter now and how much she had changed, I wanted to make sure I documented the little moments, she has grown so much, the beautiful changes that have happened, so when I found this title, I was like oh yeah this is perfect! lol

After adding my long title, I went back in and wanted to add some more texture to my layout so I popped some of the flowers up and adding some messy thread clusters here and there. I have a thing for the enamel dots that come along with the heart hugs, so I grabbed some of those in white and added them around my layout as well.

I was really, really happy with the way this layout turned out. The bright colors were fantastic and the flowers were great with the spring theme. I didn't want to take the chance of messing my layout up by writing on it so I flipped it over and added some of my journaling to the back of my layout. After I added my journaling on the back I flipped it back over and thought it could use a bit more, so I roughed up the bottom and top and added a little pop of a patterned paper that was in the same pink as in the flowers and tucked a few of those in there too and was done!
I hope you enjoyed this layout and I hope you come back and check out what else I create!

Lazy, Hazy, Crazy days of Summer / Bella Blvd DT

Hello everyone!! Summer is here and I have been having so much fun with my kiddos! We've been outside so much! And you'll see a bit of that fun in this layout.
This week my focus was on the Wonky Alpha stickers, so I decided to make a large title using different colors of them and I love how it turned out! This layout needed a big title and these alphas were perfect for it!!
I started my layout with a white cardstock background, my picture had one of my younger daughters sitting in a doughnut floaty and smiling so big in the water. So I went threw my beautiful stash of Bella goodies and grabbed out one of the newer collections, Island Escape and then an older collection, Addison. I went through and pulled papers and embellishments that complemented eachother and started on my layout.

I cut a few large rectangles out of pretty patterned papers and placed them to the left side of my layout and placed my photo of my goofy girl the the right of those over lapping some. I added a few paper layers behind my picture on the right and then moved on to adding my title. I grabbed two different colors of the Wonky Alphas and placed my title on the larger rectangle papers.

Once I had the title done, I knew I could start embellishing where I wanted. So I did! lol I grabbed some of the embellishments from the Addison collection, the cute doughnuts and a heart, I thought they looked great since she was sitting on a big ol' doughnut lol. I added some paper strips to the bottom of the layout and one to the top and then started tucking pretty flowers in here and there, paper ones and chipboard. I finished my title off with the word summer from the Chipboard sheet from the Island Escape collection and I was done with this goofy little layout.

Baseball and fun / Bella Blvd DT

Good morning everyone!
Back again to share with you a layout I made using the Baseball collection this week.
This layout really didn't go the way I planned, I started my layout with everything going across the middle of the layout, and a whole different picture picked out, but I dropped my phone in water a little over two weeks ago and lost all of my pictures on it!! I was so sad, thats what I get for never backing my photos up anywhere! I will from now on, I promise you that!
Like I said I started my layout with everything towards the top of my layout, going all the way across from side to side. I didn't have my picture printed yet, but knew what size I wanted it to be so I created a layered photo mat, with a little dimension, placed it where I wanted it and went to adding some more color to the sides of my layout.

I added some brighter pops of color/patterned papers to the sides, I distressed the edges of my of my papers to add a little more dimension to them too. I pulled out the sticker sheet and the ephemera pack and started to tuck things in here and there on my layout, I have a love for all the tabs, as you can probably tell!
I popped a baseball here in there up on some dimensional foam, added a few stars and some more tabs, lol. Along with baseball mitts and then my title.
Once I had the title on I thought I was going to be done with this layout, but when I looked at it again, I thought there was to much white space at the bottom of my layout. So I decided to add a few uneven paper strips, I used a boarder punch from my stash for one of them. Then went in and tucked another tab and that cute foam finger in.
At this point I knew I was done and just needed my photo, then that whole thing with my phone happened :(

Well, I liked my layout so I went in to my pictures and found this picture of my son doing some batting practice. We had went to a local park, his sister was using the tee stand and he was being pitched to. He loves to practice and he loves baseball so I thought the title still worked too.

Awesome kid/Bella Blvd DT

Good morning everyone!! I'm sharing my first layout made with the new Bug Explorer collection!! I love this collection, and yeah I know I say it about all of them, but oh many are they all so beautiful and fun to play with!
I went threw the collection and pulled papers I thought would look good with my photo and decided to go with a less busy background, but a patterned one. Once I decided on that, I pulled the daily details paper and cut a bunch of the cards apart and started layering them behind my photo.
Once I got the layers the way I wanted them, I started to play with a few of the papers I had pulled from the collection. I love all the patterns and wanted to add some more color to the right side, so I decided to add a few strips and distress the edges and went back and distressed the edges of my layers too. Once I had my papers down the side I knew right where I wanted my picture.
Ok, so y'all have seen the new acrylic words right? And pennants?? Well I love them all!! So I pulled the word Awesome, then dug threw all my pennants and found the one I chose to use, it actually said Kids, but I decided to pull of the "s" and just make it kid. So I used the combo of those two for my title. I pulled a mixture of leaves from the ephemera pack and the chipboard pieces and added them around my photo and tucked my pennant under some of those and added the cute little sun and cloud piece up by my title.
Finishing off my layout, I decided to grab a few stickers from the sticker sheet and then go into my Bella goodies and grab some of the Illustrated Faith hexie epoxy stickers and add them around the layout, they add a new shape and I love the pop of color it adds!
Thanks so much for stopping by to check out the layout I made today and make sure to come back!!
