Setting up my Planner with June "Storytime" kit/The Fairytale Club

Good morning everyone!
I'm here this morning to share with you a spread in my memory planner. And man am I so excited to be using the June "Storytime" Kit! It is so beautiful! I have a things for purple and this kit has it!

I do memory planning, but just like a lot of other planner girls, I do a little bit of set up before the month starts. The spread I'm sharing with you today is the last few days of June and the Start of July.

I started out by choosing a paper from the kit. This was harder then I thought it was going to be. But I decided on the one with the pretty two toned hearts and cut it down to fit the right hand side of the page. I tend to cover this portion, because its already colored in my planner, so I cover it, I dont always do this, but most of the time. After I have that adhered down I choose a washi tape that I want to use, this kit has a lot of gold in it so I chose a gold washi tape. To be honest, I love to use the gold washi anyways, lol.

At this point I start to play a little with embellishments, inserts, tags and other things. I remembered seeing this "Hi" planner page and I thought that it would be a great way to bring in July! So I punched it so it would fit in my planner and then grabbed the beautiful chipboard alphas and wrote July in different colors. Then I went back and grabbed that cute little crown and added it to the top of the insert.

I did add a few pieces from the ephemera pack. A few of the pretty gold foiled hearts, wrote in things that I knew were happening on these days and added a few other bits here and there. But I did make sure to leave quite a bit open because I know I will add pictures and more journaling.

Junes "Storytime" kit is beautiful and if you haven't subscribed yet, make sure you go check it out, you wont want to miss out on this beautiful kit!!

Sketch it out Saturday/Love you SpieglemomDT

Hello everyone!! I hope your weekend is going good, like I said in my last post, we started out with some bad weather and LOTS of rain! But it looks way better today, so thats a plus!
This morning I'm here to share with you a sketch from Pagemaps
that I used for my layout and our theme this month is the 80's and 90's, Now with this layout I used a color pallet to go with the theme. I remember when I was a kid, we always had this furniture that was tan, brown, yellow and little pops of other colors. So I found this collection by Crate paper in my stash and and thought that it matched perfectly with the sequin set, Just beachin it.

Now when it came to the sketch I changed a few things, but not much. I had this picture of my hubby and our youngest and I loved the way the photo and frame were set up in the sketch that I loved, I know my picture was a bit bigger and the way the frame when on the picture it pulled more focus to that part and I loved that.

I I wanted a decorative circle where there was the pie type one on the layout, but I wanted it to be a bit more soft, so I added this cutfile. I backed some of the spaces on the cut file and left the center open because I knew I wanted to add the pretty sequins to the center.

I added more embellishments then the sketch showed, I wanted more flowers and butterflies so I layered them under the frame and on the frame, it added just a little more color and dimension.

I didn't want a solid boarder around the side, So I took all of my scraps and added a tabs in here and there and a cork butterfly, placed them where I wanted around the side and then sewed them down. I went back and added more of the cute sequins around the layout and that was it.
Id love to see what you create with this sketch! And if youd like a bit of a discount when you go get you some goodies from Spieglemom make sure to use this code.

Memory planning/Cocoa Daisy

Good morning everyone, I hope you're all doing good.
Man, did we have some bad weather yesterday and last night!Well I'm here this morning to share with you a spread in my memory planner.

This week I probably have more play with washi and the embellishments from this months kit then anything. We didn't have a ton going on and what did happen I journaled about as they happened.
I started off wanting to use that great Pineapple card, so I chose a washi tape that matched it too. So I grabbed my light green washi I got from speiglemom scraps and covered the dividing lines for the days and then added in the card to the right with some other washi I had(I dont remember where it came from, possibly Joanns?) Then came back in with the Pineapple washi from this months kit and layered it over some of the other colored washi.

I had already put in all the things that I knew was happening this week, I do that in the beginning of the month and add the other things as I go, Like our AC going out or our daughter getting more teeth in or taking a few steps. But when I have slow weeks like this I take advantage and play with all the pretties from the kit and washi too.

I layered in washi here and there and played with a lot of the pineapple themed things in this weeks spread. I have to admit I usually keep a theme through a week if there are things like this, Last week I had quite a few flamingos in through my spread.lol I just thought these things looked to cute together.

Well thats all for this weeks spread, I hope you liked it and I hope you have a great weekend!!

Awesome dude / Creative Scrappers Sketch #307

Hey all! Sarah here this morning to share with you my take on Sketch #307

This sketch was fun for me. I did go through and do a few things different, like only doing 2 photos instead of 3,I went a little bigger with some of the strips and instead of just strips I decided to add some cut-files and back them with some great paper from Crate papers, Cool kid collection.

I did a large, blocked area like in the sketch, behind my photos. I only had 2 photos that I wanted to use so I went through my ephemera pack for this collection and the chipboard sheet and pulled things out that I wanted to use. I liked the goofy Wild thing tag, with my boy and me being goofy and him having his little Mohawk, I thought it was appropriate lol. So thats where I started. Then I moved on to backing my cut-files and laying them down where I wanted them. I wanted to add some more dimension, so I popped the orange cut-file strip up on 3D adhesive. Then I moved on to adding my embellishments.

All those little things I had collected in the beginning, I started playing with and layering them where it showed the clusters in the sketch, But instead of different sized stars, I used the cool chipboard camera and some little ephemera pieces and then added a few of the little sequin stars from the collection.

My little guy isn't so little anymore, so I wanted to add this ruler as on of the strips, kind of marking the fact that hes growing up and getting bigger. Then I popped down my little, Awesome dude title and a few more sequin stars around and was done. I was surprised at myself, not using splatters anywhere, but I thought it might just be to busy with them. lol.
I hope you play along with us and have fun with it!

Ain't life grand / 12x12 layout

Good morning everyone!
Ugh! the weekend is over and a new week begins, but really I'm ok with that, we have some fun planned this week and as long as the weather stays nice!

This week I started out with the Dream Big collection sitting on my desk. I went threw and pulled out some of the blues and yellows. I loved the patterned paper with the black circles with white speckles, so I grabbed that one to and that was the pallet for my page.
I chose a larger photo for this layout, I've been seeing it everywhere lately.I didn't go quite as big as some, but a 5x7 was big for me!lol I popped out a few of the black circles and then went back and punched out some of the yellow and blue in circles too.
I layered a bracket card behind my photo and layered a few papers behind my photo. I wanted more at the bottom of the photo so I pulled out my labels and layered a few of those there too. I also cut a strip off of my Never forget clear page and sewed it to the right side of the layout for a pop of color.

I knew I wanted to wanted my title to the left of the photo, one reason I made the layered cluster there. I pulled in a few things from the Ain't life grand collection. I loved the word die-cuts and really wanted to use this one on my little guys layout. I finished up my layout by adding come silver splatters and a bit of sewing and that was it.
This layout wasn't something that was a big grand thing, but I love how the picture was front and center with little pops of color.
Hope your week starts good and that you get some scrappy time this week too!

Sketch it out Saturday-Seriously SMS design team

Good morning everyone!!
Sarah here this morning to share another layout with you! I started this layout with this months theme in mind and a fun sketch too! I had already went threw and pulled a bunch of old pics of me an my sister from back when we were kids and our faces in this picture was perfect. When we were kids, Seriously was more then just a word it was a whole expression! lol It covered so much!

This sketch comes from DesignerDigitals.com

I started this layout with Basic Greys B-side collection, when I knew what collection I was using I pulled out all my pretty sequins and started matching them up to my papers. I grabbed 4 different packs and combined them, Pocket full of posiesJaded heartsBlack tie event and Fairy Garden. I mixed them all together and sewed a plastic sheet into a shaker pocket to go behind all my layers. I layered a bunch of the papers from the collection like in the sketch.

Once I got all the layers where I wanted them, I started to stick them down.

Instead of adding ribbon or lace, because that's what it looks like in the sketch to me, I used a boarder punch. Before I stuck the shaker pocket and all my layers down, I traced out the area behind where I wanted my picture and layers to go and came in with some Shimmerz Texturez, The tide that binds and used a old gift card and pulled it down and away from where I was putting the photo cluster.

Finishing off my layout I added some stitching, I know that wasn't in the sketch but I love to sew on my layouts, so I did. Then I added little strips of paper around the layout like on the sketch and then I just had to go back in and add some more sequins, just cause I love them!
Id love to see you play along with this sketch!

Happy Girl 12x12 layout-Fairytale club

Good morning everyone and happy Saturday to you all!
I hope your weekend has started off good! Sarah here again this morning to share with you another layout I made with the beautiful Girly and Strong collection.

I loved this background paper and wanted to use it, so that's where I started with this layout. I had this picture of my youngest daughter, that I just caught when she was crawling around on the floor. Its nothing amazing or a fantastic event, just an every day moment that I wanted to capture.  So i cut this cut-file out on my Silhouette and laid it in the middle of my layout, where I wanted the focus.

Then I went for that beautiful paper with all those roses on it and started to fussy cut them out.Once I got the ones I wanted cut out, I started placing them around the cut-file. I slid my photo under the left side of the cut-file and layered a label sticker and a ticket from the ephemera pack. I added the Happy die-cut from the ephemera pack and then fussy cut out the girl from one of the planner inserts and placed them down. As you'll see on a lot of my layouts, I like to add splatter, so I did that here too.

I grabbed a few of my other favorite patterned papers from this months kit and added a few strips to the bottom. I tucked a fussy cut rose behind those, added the other half of the label sticker and the hello pretty word sticker. I kept seeing the packaging from the ephemera and thought I should use it,lol. So I grabbed the packaging and cut a triangle and slid it under the strips. I liked the way that looked and decided I wanted to add some more of it to the top left to add some balance. I finished by adding a label sticker, to pull some of the blue up to that corner and added a few more ephemera pieces and was done.

I hope the rest of your weekend goes great and that maybe you'll get some scrappy time too!

This is me 12x12 layout - Fairytale club DT

Good morning everyone!!
I'm here this morning to share with you a layout I made about myself. I don't scrapbook myself very often, but I am trying to get more in the habit of it, so that my kids have these layouts when there older. I want them to know that I loved crafting, that I was goofy and playful.  So that's the direction I went with this layout.

I started out with my photo. I picked a goofy one that was snapped when were were on an outing. I knew I loved that paper with the script writing on it and I loved what was said on it, so I used that for the larger portion of my background. I was also attempting to not use a lot of white cardstock, this is something I have been challenging myself to do and with all these pretty papers its a bit easier for me! lol I grabbed a strip of the paper that looks like it was colored and used one of my boarder punches to add a little bit of scalloping to one side of the paper and then of course I had to add a little white cardstock off to the left of the layout.

Once I got the background down the way I wanted, I started going threw the ephemera I had and pulled thing out I knew I wanted to use on this layout. I did grab a doily from my stash too to slide behind the photo on the right. When I realized I was going to do that, I cut out a pretty little floral to put on the left hand side of my layout out for a little more balance. I wanted a little more color over on the left since there was so much while, so I grabbed that bright Hello wood paper clip and stuck it under my photo.
I went back and started layering the bits and pieces on the right hand side. I shuffled them around a few times and decided I was happy with where they were and started to adhere them down. I did pop my photo up on 3d adhesive and then added a little under that cute little poodles head too. I punched out a unicorn from one of the papers and layered it in there too.

I wanted a little to the far right side of the layout and I love love love that cute little lipstick, so I added the tag that said Create and popped the lipstick up and layered it on top. Then I went to the bottom of the layout and layered another unicorn, popped up on a piece of ephemera and then added some pretty sequins around the layout. Then I added the title, with the pretty gold puffy stickers. I didnt want to journal on the front of this layout, so I added a little card on the back an journaled a little for my kiddos.
This kit is just so pretty!!And so easy to play with! Thanks for stopping by to check out this layout!

Dream Big - Fairytale club DT

Good morning everyone! I'm here this morning to share my second layout for the Fairytale club and I just love it all!! I have such a hard time choosing what to use, or what not to use I guess, since I have a hard time not using it all!!

I started with my photo and this great cut-file. I grabbed my cardstock and sprinkled some Gold color shine around it. While the color shine was drying, I backed the feathers on my dream catcher. Once it was done with backing the feathers I adhered  the feather portion of the cut file down and started layering papers behind my picture.

I grabbed a planner page and fussy cut that adorable unicorn out and layered it on the right side of the photo and added a few pretty little roses from the ephemera pack. Then slid it under the moon. Once I got the photo placed down where I wanted it, I glued the rest of the moon down. Then came the pretty sequins! I pulled almost all the gold sequins out and glued them down around the dream catcher.

I liked the layout, but wanted more color to it, so I trimmed down two sides and backed it with that beautiful, two colored dotted paper. I cut a triangle from one of the planner inserts, I loved the bows! I put that to the bottom right of the layout, trimmed down around the outside of a circle label I had already used the inside to, punched out the xo from the paper I cut the unicorn down from and then added that cute unicorn ephemera piece. I wanted one last touch, and added the So lovely word sticker and was done.

I hope you enjoyed this layout because I loved making it and I hope your enjoying playing with this beautiful kit!!

Happy Little Cat/Pretty Little Studio DT

Good morning everyone!!
I'm here this morning to share with you a layout I made using the Dream Big collection from Pretty Little Studios.
I had fun playing with this one. It was fairly simple to make but still fun!

I chose a piece of stripped paper for my background. I loved that it looked like it had been hand drawn with some ink splatters already, so I added some of my own color to the background, using the packaging technique. I covered the background paper with a piece of vellum to tone it all down and did a little sewing in black to secure it together.

After I secured the background together I started layering behind my photo. I added some pattern paper and then came the tags, tabs and labels. I pulled out some of the ephemera pieces and layered them under and around the photo strip.

On the other side of the layout, opposite of the photo strip, I added a frame and layered a few pieces of ephemera. And the I grabbed that adorable sheet of cloud stickers! I loved the colors and thought they would work great on this layout, so I started to layer them here and there on the layout. Around the photo and title and then up around the frame. I love how this layout turned out and the way the sweet little clouds looked on it!
Thanks so much for checking out what I made today and I would love to see what your making with the Dream Big collection too!!

Sketch it out Saturday- Rad Dude

Good morning everyone!! I'm here this morning to share with you a new layout I made using some pretty sequins and awesome little corkys!
Here is the sketch I used for this layout, this is another old one I had drawn up, hope you like playing with it!

This month were sticking in with the theme of the 80's & 90's. So today I using my title to go along with the theme. Thus the Rad Dude! lol.

When we were kids we use to say Rad all the time, lol, I feel like I'm making myself sound old lol. But I was a kid in the 90's and I use to love saying rad!
I grabbed my Crate paper, Cool kid collection, (its been sitting in my stash and I haven't touched it yet, well untf my layout I started layering behind my photo. And then it was to my Silhouette I went. I cut out my title and some fun little star circles and a line of them to layer around.il now!) Then I grabbed some Bazzil cardstock from the Spiegelmom store and started cutting away at my papers. I knew I wanted to fallow the layout pretty close or possibly to a T. So I chose my paper for the bottom and cut it down, and decided I wanted the top strip to be the same, so I cut that down too and put them in place.

I did all my cut-files on white cardstock too, so that I could water color them like I did my title or back them with colorful and patterned papers. With my title I sprayed it down with water and grabbed my water color pallet and started adding black watercolor to the letters. I sprayed it here and there and dabbed it to get the effect I wanted, a little wore look.

I put my title where I wanted it, to the right of the photo and started playing with the embellishments! I started layering some of the cardstock stickers, tags and my cut-files. I got some great washi from the shop too, He Zhi Color tape. I added a strip of that in a orange-red color and then added a cardstock sticker over it.

And then it was for Sequins and Cork!!! I love these colors and the texture that the sequins and cork add to a layout!
I added a bunch of the little shooting cork stars and then broke into my Neon Summer and Gotta love Emojis sequins. I used the bright orange sequins from Neon Summer and the black sequins from the Gotta love Emojis. After that I added a little black watercolor splatters and my layout was done!
I hope you liked this layout and I hope to see you play along with the sketch too!! Remember to tag us on instagram so we can see what you create!!

5 Kinds of happy/ Pretty little Studio Pinsperation

Good morning everyone! How are you doing? I hope well. We've had some nasty weather for the last week, so I am really hoping that it finally breaks tomorrow, I want to see the sun!!
Well I'm here this morning sharing a layout inspired by a picture from Pinterest.

I like pisperation because from one little picture like this, there are so many different way you could go with your layout, card or project. You can go with color, brush strokes, words or the little saying on the bottom, and in my case I went with the little saying at the bottom. To be honest, I was going to play with the brush strokes on a page, but those four little words just kept coming back to me, so I went with that.

I used those words as a jumping off point for me and based my layout around it. I went through my pictures and found five of my kids, me and my hubby and other family. I laid my photos there I wanted them and then started to layer bingo cards behind one, tags here and there under photos.

I added little heart die-cuts and a few circle ones here and here. I pulled out some of the labels and layered them down at the bottom left and added my title, five kinds of happy to it and started my stitching. I stitched my title, through my little scalloped ephemera and all the way around my layout, all in black. Once I did that I decided I wanted a little more definition around my photos and other pieces, so I lightly traced around them with a pencil and was happier with the way it looked.

Thanks so much for stopping by and seeing what I came up with for this pinsperation picture and I hope to see you play along too!

Hey everyone!
I'm excited to say that I'm a new member of the Fairytale club design team!! I got my first kit the other day and was so happy with it! Everything in it is made so well and the paper is good heavy quality, its all so amazing!

Tonight I shared my first layout on the Fairytale blog and I thought I would share it here too!
Make sure you go the the Fairytale blog and see all the amazing layouts, 6x8 pocket pages, pocket pages and planners that are being made over there!! And keep checking for the sneaks of Junes kit too!!

Today I'm sharing my first layout with the May, Girly and Strong kit! This kit is so beautiful! It was so hard for me to even cut into these papers, but I managed! lol I started going through this kit when I got it and saw all the bows and it made me think of this bow cut-file that I had sitting in my computer and I had never used. I decided to cut that out and started backing some of the bows with the pretty papers.

After I backed the ones I was going to back, I went back through the papers again to find my background papers. Once I chose my background, I adhered the cut-file down, layered a few of the color blocks from the cut apart sheet to my photo and popped it up on some 3D foam.

I added one of the pretty wooden paperclips to the top left of the photo. Then I broke into the ephemera die-cut pack and started on my embellishment clusters

I usually add at least 3 embellishment clusters around my layout. I don't always fallow that rule, the visual triangle rule, but I do find myself doing that quite a bit. I added some pretty sequins for some bling and was done.
I had a blast making this layout and cant wait to break into the next one!
