Hip kit club CT/ Sing your heart out!!!

Good morning everyone!!! Im here and up on the Hip kit club facebook page this morning sharing a layout I created with the March 2016 main kit, embellishment kit, paper add on kit and some bits and pieces from the February 2016 kits! Thats one think I love about all these kits, they all go together so well so you can combine them too!!

My layout this week is of a goofy picture of my youngest daughter singing her little heart out! I was so happy to catch this pic cause she always comes in doing things but runs off just as fast,lol, but I actually had my phone in my hand and caught it! She loves music and loves to sing all the time and this was no different, she was singing at the top of her lungs and getttin it!

I took inspiration from this months mood board to create this layout. I went with the pinks, bright pops of yellow and little touches of blue. Along with the great American Crafts cork thickers.

I grabbed a few doilies from my stash to add to the layers and dimension to my layout.

I love the all these Pinkfresh Studio, Felicity papers and embellishments!! The colors are fantastic and the 6x6 paper pad that came in the Embellishment kit was fantastic and wow does it make the kit go even further!

I concentrated my layering and cluster to the doilies. They seem to draw my eye more, is it the same for you?

I really do like how this layout turned out and I'm so happy to have gotten it scrapped. Sometimes I think some of my photos are a bit odd and I wonder if i should scrap them but I'm getting to where it doesn't bother me anymore. I took the photo for a reason, even if it doesn't have a big story behind it, its something I wanted to remember and keep.

Hip Kit Club CT Layout/ Ooh Lala

Good morning everyone!! I hope your having a great morning and see so far. We had a bit of a long week last week and going into this past weekend. Our youngest daughter had to have a procedure done and we've been trying to get back to normal since then. Its always hard when one of your little ones is sick though, but shes doing better now so I'm happy.

But in the midst of everything this past week, I did get a chance to sneak in a little scrappy time while she was napping.

The layout I made for this week is about my sister. She moved this past year and its been hard not having her close, but I ran across this pic from a few years ago. its a little yellowed and a bit grainy but I love it. Its so her! I love my big sister! lol 

I dove back into my February kits and grabber my Pink Paislee, C'est La Vie patterned papers and that beautiful gold title. Thats more so what started this layout for me. I love those gold words, there are silver ones too but I thought the gold went so well with the photo. 

I added the fringe heart from Maggie Holmes Bloom collection and some little enamel dots from Simple stories, but that was about it. I wanted to keep this layout pretty simple and just focused on my sister. I dont always journal on my pages and when its a bit more personal like this, I'll journal on the back of my layouts. I didnt show my journaling because it was personal to me, it came out more like a letter to my sister about missing her, so kinda sappy lol.

Hip Kit Club CT/ You spin me right round

Hello everyone, hope your weeks been going good. Now mine is going great since I've gotten my February Hip Kits!!!! There fan-freaking-tastic!!

I grabber this picture of my youngest son, from back when he was only 2, oh so long ago! He was out on the back deck with me playing on his sit and spin. It wasn't an amazing picture op or anything special like a bday party or anything but he was just so sweet sitting there with his shaggy hair and cute little laugh. So I snapped more pics then were needed and chose these two to scrap for this layout. I used Ashley Hortons sketch for this layout that she put up on theHip Kit facebook group for this weeks challenge. Her sketch was so great, I can see me using it over and over.

I stick more in the blue tones for this layout, pulling from the Pink Paislee C'est La Vie papers in the main kit with a little pop of bright yellow from the same collection. I did a bit of embellishing from the Pink Paislee C'est La Vie ephemera pack and the pretty 01 paper with all the pretty cut apart pieces. I loved the little bit of yellow around the photo but wanted a bit more, so I grabbed my Shimelle Starshine chipboard stickers from the embellishment kit 

I grabbed some embroidery floss from my stash, a variegated black to light grey and stitched my circles onto my page and to finish the whole thing off, I grabbed my Prima water color pencils from Octobers color kit  and splattered it across the page.
