Paint fun / Date night

Finally playing with my June Hip Kit, like I said in my last post, man did I pick the wrong moth to get just the main kit, lol. These papers are so pretty and bright and they work for bot my boys and girls! Thats a huge plus for me.

So summer break has started and I love all the time we get with the kiddos. We have a small list of thing that we want to this summer, nothing to big, but fun all the same.

Well we managed to already get on of the items on our list done!! We did a paint slip n' slide!! It was so much fun and I have so many more photos but I loved this picture of my oldest son! He doesn't look to happy but I promise he had a blast! He's already at that age that when he sees the camera on him he stops smiling, ugh, I though that was suppose to happen when they were teenagers, lol.
We've already decided that this will happen again this summer! I do have to day though, if any of yall decide to do this, it takes more paint than you think! lol and once you've started with the paint on the tarp or slip n' slide dont add water!! It turns everything brown or a nasty shade of green. But so worth doing!!

I have a bunch of tickers, some I've bought myself and then others have come in my kit. Well I've been watching Adele Toomey or Inky Quills videos on youtube and she did a few videos on using left over thickers. So I figured, hey why not. These thickers are from my March Hip Kit, there Crate paper Marque thickers and they were the perfect color of tealy blue to go with the papers in this kit too!! Thank you Kimberley for that! I love the way it turned out! I didn't want anymore paper on the page to take away from the layering behind the photo but I also didn't want a colored background either. I am really happy with how this layout turned out though and thank you Adele for the inspiration!

Hip Kit has weekly challenges on there facebook page and this week was no different and a huge plus this week, Ashley Horton of The Cut Shoppe designed a special cut file for us to use.

I used my June Hip Kit for this layout too and Ashlyes cut file. They yellow behind the cut file didnt come in the kit, I used yellow washi from Little B. I just liked the bright color behind the cut outs to go along with the yellow in the triangles. There are a few things from past Hip Kits as well. But this was my take on the challenge. We were to be inspired by the cut file for this challenge along with a repetitive phrase, a circle, sequins, a chipboard element, something aqua and something yellow. Well as you see I decided to use the actual cut file, I thought it fit for a picture of me and hubby on a date night, going to see a movie.lol

Well I hope you all enjoy the layouts! Hope you all have a great weekend! Happy Fathers Day to so many of you out there!!

Its been a long week

First off I got my June Hip Kit!! Really excited about that! Its so bright and beautiful, perfect for summer. I'm going to have to break into it this evening I believe!

I wish I would have got the paper add on so that I would have multiple of these beautiful papers!! And all these amazing embellishments, WOW! I picked the wrong month to get only the main kit,

And now back to working with my stash. I managed to get 5 layouts done this week with my stash. It that surprised me with everything I had to do this week. lol. Schools out and summer has started!! I cant wait to start our summer fun.
But I wanted to try something new for me and using 4 larger photos on a layout like this was new for me. But I've seen so many pretty layouts done like this lately that I figured hey I'll try it.lol It came out ok but not my best, but I love that I got to use a big chunk of that Hiedi Swapp floral at the top, I think it goes with our pic pretty good. I have so many random photos like this, lol, its hard to scrap them all, and I don't, but we were just going down the road, I wasn't driving, and yes I decided to take a selfie and my daughter started squealing and laughing, too cute to pass up!

These papers are from glitz designs and a little yellow bicycle from 2009, I've been hording it lol. My son has been threw so much and still going threw, but its life and we do what we have to do. Hes amazing and has been a trooper!

I have have to many paper pads! But I cant help it I love them!! We R memory keepers has so many beautiful papers!! I love these every day moments, kinda like the above photo says. Just like the below photo is. I love that I can catch things that aren't epic big moments, just little everyday things and document them to. I hope that when my kids get older they will like the fact that, yeah I got pictures from all there birthdays, holidays, graduations, school ceremonies and all but also of everyday life, playing in the yard, playing dames, watching tv cuddled on the couch, hospital trips and yeah even them sleeping. lol

Now this last layout was done for a challenge on the Hip Kit Club forum on facebook. It was a sketch challenge and I needed it this week! This was all done with things from my stash as well, the only thing that was from a past Hip Kit was my Amy Tan remarks stickers, love those by the way, they come in so handy! And the Marque thickers. I used another one of my paper pads from my stash, this one was by Pink Paislee and it screams summer! My youngest was so happy to be running and playing at this splash park last summer, I think were going to have to go back this summer to!

Spring, allergies, and scrapbooking

Well this week I didn't get to get much done, allergies are tearing up my little ones :( It makes me so sad to see them miserable. Its been one after another this week. Now the 2 youngest are miserable and theres just nothing I can do. They seem to be getting better though, running around more and playing more, so thats a plus. But during the week I only managed to get 2 layouts done with my little ones feeling yucky. I've been challenging myself to use my scrappy stash, so I dove in.

I love these pics of the kiddos from last summer. They were having so much fun running and playing in the water. And these Pink Paislee papers went so well with the pictures. I've got bits and pieces from other collections and companies in there too.  BoBunny, Teresa Collins, We R Memory Keepers and more.

And here is our little man, just chilling at the bottom of the slide, basking in the sun. I had an entire kit of We R Memory Keepers - Archived,  unopened in my stash!! OMG! I couldn't believe that I didn't know that I still had that! I love it!

Now here is what I managed to do this week. This may not look like a ton, but what I did was pull out a bunch of pictures and go threw my stash, I had way more than I thought I had! So I got a picture or multiple pictures and started pulling papers. I think this way it wont take me as long to get scrapping. I have over 20 hopeful layouts here. So I'm going to get busy on those before my June kit gets here!! Eeek!! So excited about it! I already got my shipping notice!
